Explore Your Park: Saturday, Jan. 31, 11 am to 1 pm, Rose City Park, at the basketball court. Portland Parks Environmental Education has launched a new program series called Explore Your Park. They are free drop-in events for all ages that offer hands-on activities, scavenger hunts, creature features, guided park tours, and more. Rose City Bluff Restoration will be there!
Community Garden Event: Saturday, Feb. 7th, 10 am to 1 pm. The McDaniel High School Sustainable Agriculture Program is holding an open (green) house event and work party at the high school garden. They hope to bring neighbors together to grow, share, and cultivate a community focused on sustainable food systems. They will provide tools, gloves, and light refreshments. Join for any amount of time to learn about the garden or help with the project! The Sustainable Agriculture Program teaches practical gardening, cooking, and business skills. The program offers instruction in gardening and urban farming techniques while allowing students to earn college credits.
Sunday: Most Sundays in the winter RCBR volunteers will be clipping and digging blackberries or pulling weeds. Wear long pants, closed-toed shoes, and gloves. Bring a water bottle. Stay hydrated. Meet at NE 66th and Sacramento, usually at 9:30 am to noon.
Every Sunday: Rose City Bluff Restoration meets every Sunday, 9:30 am, at NE Sacramento and 66th.
