Planting Day 2026: Planting day is set for Sunday, November 1, 9:30 am to about noon and will likely carry over for another day on Sunday, November 8, same time. This is the event we work towards all year. We have over seven hundred plants that our volunteer growers have been fostering since last winter. Many thanks to the growers for all their time and effort!
Portland Promenade, Bird’s Eye Café, and a Town Hall: Oregon Walks is wrapping up STEPtember with the Portland Promenade, Sunday, Sept. 27, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. The full walk starts at Luuwit View Park, and continues for approximately 11 miles, ending at Pioneer Square. They will be stopping at the Bird’s Eye Café where walkers will hear about Rose City Bluff Restoration, enjoy some live music, and experience the great community spirit that we’ve come to appreciate at our Sunday Bird’s Eye Café on the Bluff!
From the Bird’s Eye Café walkers will continue to Hollywood for a joint Town Hall and short walk from 11 am to 12:30 pm, starting at the Hollywood Theater. State legislatures Senator Khanh Pham, Representative Willy Chotzen, and Representative Thủy Trần will be on hand to give walkers updates on economic development, consumer protection, fair elections, housing affordability, climate action, and transportation.
You can choose to do the complete 11-mile walk or just the town hall segment in Hollywood. Or you can just come to hang out at the Bird’s Eye Café for the live music and community fellowship! Get more information and please RSVP for the Portland Promenade at Oregon Walks.
Southeast Uplift Candidate Mixer: Sat, Sept 26, 1 to 4 pm, 3534 SE Main St. Come meet the candidates running for the three open District 3 seats on Portland City Council in the November 3 election. SEUL is closing down the street for a free, family-friendly mixer. Rose City Bluff Restoration will be there! The candidate program begins at 2:30 PM, when each candidate will have an opportunity to make brief remarks. Most of the afternoon will follow an open format with plenty of time for one-on-one conversations. Many candidates will have booths, alongside local nonprofits, agencies, and community organizations. Sunday: On 9/27/26, we will spread wood chips along the upper trail in preparation for the Portland Promenade. Wear protective gloves and a mask when spreading chips. Bring a wheelbarrow and pitchfork if you have them. We’ll also have tools to loan. We recommend that volunteers bring drinking water. Most Sundays in the fall RCBR volunteers will be clipping and digging blackberries or pulling weeds. Meet at NE 66th and Sacramento, usually at 9:30 am to noon.
Every Sunday: Rose City Bluff Restoration meets every Sunday, 9:30 am, at NE Sacramento and 66th.
