Planting Day 2026: Planting day is set for Sunday, November 1, 9:30 am to about noon and will likely carry over for another day on Sunday, November 8, same time. This is the event we work towards all year. We have over eight hundred plants that our volunteer growers have been fostering since last winter. More volunteers have been working all year to prepare areas for planting. Many thanks to the growers and our Sunday work party volunteers for all their time and effort!
Sunday: This week we will continue to clip or dig out blackberry roots, weed and cut invasive hawthorn trees, and remove debris. Wear protective gloves, long pants, and close-toed shoes. We’ll have tools to loan or bring your own. We recommend that volunteers bring drinking water. Most Sundays in the fall RCBR volunteers will be clipping and digging blackberries or pulling weeds. Meet at NE 66th and Sacramento, usually at 9:30 am to noon.
Pumpkins and Pints at the Rose City Golf Club: Friday, October 23, from 4:30 to 6:30 pm the Rose City Golf Club is hosting a pumpkin painting event for kids. Families and neighbors are invited to a fun fall celebration and opportunity for the community to come together during the season. Mini pumpkins and all of the supplies will be provided. There will also be Halloween movies, music, candy and snacks. Parents can relax and enjoy Oktoberfest beer specials while the kids decorate their pumpkins. Costumes welcome!
